Mysore Palace :-
Mysore Palace or the Maharajah's Palace located in the heart of the city at Mirza Road, is the most attractive monument in Mysore.
 
The Mysore Zoo :-

Mysore Zoo is one of the oldest and most popular zoos in Southern India. Located on the outskirts of Mysore, the zoo is home to a wide range of wild species. The official name for the zoo is Shri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens, though it is known commonly by its shortened name. Mysore Zoo is one of the city’s most popular attractions. It was established under royal patronage in 1892, making it one of the oldest zoos in the world.

 
Nanjangud :-

Nanjangud, a holy place, described as Garalapuri, is famous because of the huge Nanjundeswara or Srikanteswara temple. It is believed that sage Gauthama stayed here for some times and installed a Linga, the idol form of Shiva. Nanjangud is also known as 'Dakshina Kashi' or Varanasi of the South.

 
Somanathapur :-
The star shaped 13th century Hoysala temple is of great architectural beauty with three temples named after Prasanna Chennakeshava. You can see stone carving work though out the temple walls and pillars. Somanathapur is located at a distance of 35 KM from Mysore.
 
Shivanasamudra :-

Near the town is the famous Shivanasamudram (Also known as the Siva Samudram, literally meaning Shiva's Sea) waterfall. The Kaveri River splits here into two branches and each branch cascades down rocky cliffs. The more popularly viewed cascade is known as Gaganachukki and the other cascade is known as Bharachukki. These spectacular waterfalls are surrounded by hill forests of the Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary.

 
Mahadeshwara Hills :-
Mahadeshwara Hills  about 142 Kms from Mysore, is a popular pilgrimage center dedicated to Lord Mahadeshwara.
 
Sangama :-

This is 3 Kms from Srirangapatna where the two branches of the river Cauvery reunite in joyful exuberance.

 
Nagarhole :-

National Park and the Kabini River Lodge : are perfect get away for nature lovers. Abound in a rich variety of wild life one can find elephants, antelopes and even leopards here.

 
Bandipur :-

Situated 80 Kms from Mysore, the Bandipur national Park is one of the most beautiful wide life centers in the country. Rare species of birds and animals can be seen in their natural habitats. Bandipur has been chosen by the WWF for their project tiger scheme to protect tigers.

 
Talakadu :-
Talakadu  is situated on the banks of the river Cauvery and is buried beneath sand dunes. Its temples are opened for worship on special occasions once in 12 years.
 
Hogenakal :-

This water fall is 185 Kms from Bangalore. A good picnic spot.

 
St. Philomena's Church :-
The St. Philomena's Church in Mysore is one of the oldest churches in India. It is over 200 years old. Initially over 250 years ago there was a small church in its place. When the capital of Mysore state was move from Srirangapatnam to Mysore city in 1799, many British officers and soldiers came and settled down in Mysore. The Maharaja Krishnaraja Wodeyar III realized the need for a Christian church for these people. So the Maharaja gave them a small plot of land on the Mysore-Bangalore Road and a little church came up there. As the city expanded and the Christian population of the city increased there was a need for a larger church.
 
Srirangapatna :-
Srirangapatna is an island town encircled by river Cauvery. The temple of Lord Sriranganatha is said to have been built by the Chieftain Thirumalaiah in 894 AD. This was once the capital of Hyderali & his son Tippu Sultan, "The Tiger of Mysore". In the 18th century, Marathas attacked Srirangapatna & forced heavy payments. Hyder drew back the Marathas & saved the Kingdom. In 1799 Tippu fought a fierce Battle (Battle of Mysore) against the British & fell bravely defending his capital. Srirangapatna remains in a ruined state recalling the Battles fought & the past glory.
 
Ranganathittu :-
Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary, in the southern Indian state of Karnataka, is an important tourist destination from Mysore city orthe adjoining Vrindavan gardens, both of which are barely 20 km away. The bird sanctuary, situated on the banks of the Kaveri River, includes of a group of six islets as well.
 
Cauvery Fishing Camp :-
Need a break from the daily chores? Looking forward to some thrill to chill out? How about a holiday in the lap of nature that clubs professional angling, amateur fishing, coracle boat rides, bird watching, river rafting, trekking and outdoor camping? B.R. Hills :-
90 Kms from Mysore & 230 Kms from Bangalore, the Biligirirangana range of hills are picturesquely situated between the Cauvery & Kapila rivers. At a height of 5,091 feet above sea level, this hill stretches from north to south for about 16 Kms. All round are deciduous trees. And roaming amidst the long grass and tall trees are animals.
