HYDERABAD SIGHTSEEING

Once upon a time pearl traders used to spread out their beads by the side of the road and hawk them the way you'd find green vegetables peddled today. The city has gotten a lot more tech-savvy since then, but it still retains quite a bit of the charm of the Shahi and the Nawabi days. While you find a younger crowd that is at once cosmo and geeky, you also find a lot of the old world aura about it.

Birla Temple :-
Industrialists Birlas have built a number of temples of architectural magnificence all over the country which, strangely, are referred to as Birla temples and not Lakshminarayan temple or Venkateswara temple. A quarter century ago, they built a temple in Hyderabad entirely in marble brought from Rajasthan and dedicated it to Lord Venkateswara, known as Balaji in the north.

Mecca Misjid :-
Just a few steps away from Charminar is the Mecca Masjid, South India's largest mosque. It is said to have bricks brought from Mecca built into the central arch and hence the name. Originally started by Sultan Mohammad Quli Qutb Shah, it was completed by the conquerer Aurangazeb.

Warangal :-
Warangal is located on northern Andhra Pradesh State lies along the Chennai-Kazipet-Delhi rail route. Warangal was the ancient capital of the Kakatiyas, an Andhra dynasty that flourished in the 12th century AD. The city stands out for its beautiful lakes, temples and wildlife. It is very rich in antiques and relics.

Charminar :-
Charminar is always on the top of the mind of any tourist visiting Hyderabad. To say that Charminar is a major landmark in the city is to state the obvious, to repeat a cliché. The great monument is a synonym for Hyderabad and the pivot around which the glory and history of the city have developed.

Nehru Zoological Park :-
It is spread over 1.2 sq. kms of landscaped gardens and houses about 3000 animals. Apart from the animals, a nocturnal zoo, the pre-historic dinosaur park, a natural history museum, parks, a mini-train and animal rides make the place ideal for a picnic. The nocturnal animals and the reptiles form a particularly interesting part of the whole.

Golconda Fort :-
Golconda fort is one of the most magnificent fortress complex in india which lies on the western outskirts around 11km from Hyderabad

Salar Jung Museum :-
The famous Salar Jung Museum houses one of the finest collections of art objects of Asia anywhere in the world. The collection largely belonged to the late Hyderabadi noble Salar Jung III, who inherited some of this priceless collection of vases, carpets, sculpture, furniture and manuscripts among other objects, from his father and grandfather.

Hussain Sagar :-
Hussain Sagar bridges not only culturally disparate Hyderabad and Secunderabad, known as twin cities all over the country, but constitutes a continuum between history and contemporainty.

Nagarjunakonda :-

The site was discovered in 1926. Subsequent excavations, particularly in the '50s and '60s, have unearthed the remains of stupas, viharas, chaityas and mandapams, as well as some outstanding examples of white marble carvings and sculptures depicting the life of the Buddha.
